Nambucca: The Return

nambucca: the return

Body:
to some, nambucca is a pub in north london, located near arsenal which means watch out for those traffic wardens.

to many others, it is a magical paradise located on the east coast of australia. let's visit there for a while.

here is where it is in australia (along with the location of australia in the world, in case you hadn't discovered it yet):::

now, as you can see, most of the world is GREEN whereas australia is an angry RED, explaining its nickname of 'the angry continent'. as far as continents go it's definitely up there in the top 3. antartica is just full of penguins and morgan freeman.

he should have played robin.

these are some of the people you might meet in nambucca (we're back to australia now)>>

and finally, here's a detailed map of the area!!

so what have we learnt today? not anything about our impending gig, that's for sure.

so without further ado...

tomorrow the 25th of APRIL. > . > .

the funnest night of at least your week, if not longer.

come to nambucca, holloway road, nearest tube archway, a mere 3 to get in and a barrage of great music.

and costumes.

New Year Bulletin

resolutions!

wishes!

hopes!

dreams!

the holiday season sparkles with such things. we've all eaten lots of food, right? and drunk some things that we enjoyed, right? we're fat tigers.

we can't wait for the new year to start. actually jack and marcus are having new year round theirs. partay partay.

so! on to business. there are two things I want to get through in this bulletin. One is that we're playing TWISTED LICKS, a club night at 229 in London, on Friday. This will be fun and all hell will break loose, I imagine.

The other is our TOP TWELVE VIDEOS OF THE YEAR. Yay!

These videos aren't of this year. Neither do they star us. But then which good videos do?

So. Twisted Licks has the following information:

The myspace adddress is myspace.com/twistedlicks

and the date is FRIDAY the 4TH of January. This Friday! Not sure what time we're on. But it'll be dancing new year fun!

On to the videos. This compilation fully reflects one tiger's opinion, as the others are preparing a party. I won't tell you which one I am.

These videos are the ones that have caused hilarity, pathos, sauciness and fantastic times for all. Generally I'm not for the current madness of time-wasting these kind of sites cause, so here I act as a filter for you, for your enjoyment. Wonderful.

In no particular order:

#12 - In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins, live. What can we say? In a year where a gorilla has made this song a hit, here's the original gorilla "performing" it. Wonderful.

#11 - Aitor Throup fashion video. Apart from the great super-hero fashion trickery he's worked over the year (let's make a comic together Aitor! Call me!), this video is great for the soundtrack. It might be someone we know.

#10 - Super Mario Bros. Frustration. There are some modified versions of NES Super Mario out there, but this one has commentary. Hi-Larious. Profanities ahoy.

#9 - The Sheens, Hot Shots. This year I've watched Wall Street. Hmm. Not convinced, but this video enjoys a genius synergy of cinema that can only come from an acting dynasty. How the Sheens/Estovez's had spoofs monopolised is a lovely thing.

#8 - Gorden The Gopher is mauled. The title promises more than it delivers, but the indignity of Gordon is fantastic. Bring back such character as this on kid's tv, please.

#7 - Fun With The Clapper. You can enjoy this video for the spirited reading of 'Spongebob Squarepants'. Or for the special use of "The Clapper". The Clapper plugs into a wallswitch and then whatever's plugged through it turns on and off through claps. Or loud voices. Or anything.

#6 - Turkish Star Wars. There is a phenomenon known as foreign recuts of films. In this case, Star Wars has been recut (using the special effects) with Turkish actors. And a new plot. This clip has no Star Wars footage, but look at the related ones for the flying sequences.

#5 - Gumby intro sequence. Here in the UK, we don't know Gumby from Adam. And who's Adam when he's at home? But Gumby is basically Morph. But without Tony Hart. He's a world of fun. If you have a heart, then he's a part of you. Indeed. Creepy?

#4 - Tool-making crows. These crows are cleverer than many people I know. They're certainly cooler. If it wasn't morally questionable, I'd capture one and keep him as a pet. To serve me. And do my wicked deeds.

#3 - The Osmonds. What's not to love? Osmonds, good. Horses, good. Dancing, good. Song, great! Look the the moves, seriously.

#2 - Green Day live @ The Astoria. This girl rocks!

#1 - Ian Somerhalder. Ok, you got us. We love Ian S. And not just in a brotherly way, either. This is just an audition clip, but you should see the clip from Rules of Attraction.

Oh ok! It is New Year after all!

Phew! That's a lot of great times!

And now I must away! To more great times!

Lots of love, thanks for everything this year. It couldn't have happened without you, ${NAME}. Haha!

Love Tigers
X

Bonus clip! One of our most fun interviews we did this year, I think. Field Day! I can't remember if the interview's good or not. You decide!

newer bulletin

so, it turns out that it's quite hard to find the time in the day to remember to send a bulletin every day for a week.

it's a little like vitamins. we've never been good at taking them daily - and did you know that if you don't take them regularly you may as well not take them at all?

but i would say in my defence that, had I fulfilled the parameters of my challenge, our bulletins may have been boring, sir!

BUT!

thank you to everyone who bought the single! in all honesty, we have no clue whatsoever what the charts mean at this point! they are quite possibly entirely meaningless!

evidence for this is thus:

± the BBC Radio 1 Chart is different from the "Official" Charts Company chart

± we are apparently at #12 in the HMV chart

± we are at number 2 in the "Indie" Chart (but not featured in the "Rock" Chart, which angers us)

So! Make merry and fantastic! We love being at number two in the Indie Chart! Although it does damage our case for not being an indie band. In our heads we're more of a progressive doomcore outfit.

After touring up and down this country loads of times in the last six months, we're taking a holiday! It'll be the first set of more than three consecutive days that we've had off this year, and we're going on holiday to New York and surrounding areas.. is anyone from New York?

Where should we go?

Where should we eat?

Where should we buy our new outfits that will dominate the next six months of our lives?

All questions to be answered by you, our fine friends.

Love

Tigers

p.>s. who was your best at glastonbury? of the headliners, there was one that we liked and two that we felt less than enthused by. it's a big gig, dammit!

oh, and this lady was fantastic.

Day 4

Day 3
the seven days of advent. volume 2+3. wolves and lazy days
Body:
tigers!

i have been informed that yesterdays bulletin blew up the wireless in wolverhampton... i think in all the excitement of hurricanes being released and the gig selling out (which was our first ever headline show to sell out) it just couldnt take it.. ah well.

so yes! our new single Hurricanes came our yesterday and we're all pretty stoked. it has nice yellow artwork and some ace b-sides which we know you'll love. you can get all three formats at hmv for like £3 or something stupid so check it out. our friends at virgin megastores have been having problems with some stock but rest assured it will all be delivered by tomorrow morning latest so keep trying if you havent found it yet!

todays tour photo is us on the shores of lockness where we made friends with some police dog handlers.

the dogs were cool. and really scary too. like wolves.

the festvial we played there was called rockness and it was our first one ever. we have now realised that festivals are great cause you get to play for a bit then hang out and see bands. we saw soulwax play and caught up with some friends. they also give you free food.

tomorrow we are in southampton and then our tour ends in london on thursday which i think has also sold out. we'll see you all then!

DAY 1

he seven days of advent. volume one. bristopia.
Body:
dear assembled avengers,

prior p.s. we're playing bristol in an hour and a bit. amazing!X

(i know they're not Avengers; but it's a funnier photo)

For the next week, I will send you one bulletin per day, outlining what we've been up to, asking quiz questions, and putting a fun photo in it.

This is because HURRICANES is out tomorrow, and if you'd like to buy it, it'd mean much to us if you bought it this week (because then we'll go to number one; just like the KLF).

I figure if there are 15,000 of you, and you all buy it, that would actually make it number one. Imagine that. Insane.

I realise that those of you in other countries than the UK want it too! And maybe you can get it from this site, I'm not sure. Boy, we can't wait to come and tour the world. That's why we're in a band!

http://www.7digital.com/stores/productDetail.aspx?shop=668&product=92204&sid=1324136&trackid=977360

Here's the first venue we played on this headline tour - we've never seen our name in lights like this!

For everyone who's waiting for the photos of the crowd we've been taking, we haven't got it developed yet. It's an old camera, innit! We're not quite at the stage yet of disposable digital cameras/....

QUIZ SECTION

Two parts - one, who is going to Glastonbury? We can't! We have to record. But that means if you could buy the single before you go that'd be perfect. I know I'm going on about this but we've never sold ourselves heavily before.

Second part: who is better, Captain Kirk or Captain Picard?

Definitive evidence, coming tomorrow.

DAY 2 ADVENT

hello. we have sweated more than we have ever sweated in our lives. we have been hotter than all H-E-Double Hockey Sticks (HELL), and nearly perished in our own skin... that's where most people perish, i suppose.

tonight we played Wolverhampton. You were amazing. Amazing, I say.

These bulletins are brought to you by HURRICANES< the new single. Today, you can buy it from Amazon.co.uk:

pressure pressure! we're bein thrown out of the venue.

So I'll leave you

Have you had enough Spam today?

My buddy Jack stopped hanging out with me the other day because he plays drums and I play bass and he was totally like, "why do you look at me funny when we're onstage" and I was like, "why don't you take a random piss test?"

> he's got much to tell yu. I heard through my buddy DAN that Pull Tiger Tail were actually a boyband formed by the people who brought you BUSTED and MCFLY and BIFF TANNEN."

IN THIS MAILOUT:

IN THIS MAILOUT:

• WIN! Tickets to Carling Weekend
• What we've been up to, since we've been gone
• A photo of us, by us, today
• Possible information on possible future gigs
• Times for V Festival and Reading / Leeds

So, since you last heard from us, we've been to Ibiza;

we've been on holiday to America;

we've played many festivals;

(Copyright Retna Images - Short Sharp Shot)

we've been to the Groucho Club;

plus we've been writing all the songs our little legs will let us. Or something to that effect.

Did you see this ace photo of Carl?

This isn't an opportunity to say we have merchandise on sale, but we do.

To the main event:

We're playing V FESTIVAL on the Strongbow Cider Room stage, at 1:45. We're playing Chelmsford on the Saturday and Stafford on the Sunday.

We're playing LEEDS FESTIVAL on the Friday and READING FESTIVAL on the Saturday.

To win a pair of tickets to Leeds (sorry south, we've only got spare ones for the Friday), go to our message board:

Pull Tiger Tail Forum

Register, and

The big (small) list of when we are on at V Festival and Reading and Leeds

As you may have gathered, we are playing at the V Festival and the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Firstly, who's coming?

It's going to be fun. Promise. I know, I'm always promising tons o' fun, but this time I mean it.

(cue irrelevant and confusing photo plucked from the web)

As these are the only gigs we have coming up, you'd better sell your Pokemon collection;

remortgage your house (possibly to these people);

look for all your loose change in the house;

However, all this won't actually get you into the festival. For that we'd recommend a ladder.

But our lawyer would advise against suggesting it.

We're rehearsing like crazy, writing hit after hit. We'll have spares so if one of the Simpson sisters want to come knocking, we won't say no (no, i wouldn't say no).

But we'll annouce new single and tour details asap. How are you all?

We had an amazing time at both Field Day and Underage Festival.

Amazing stand-outs?

Bat For Lashes
Liars
Battles
Mystery Jets
Chromeo
Patrick Wolf

We would swear blind that we heard both Chromeo and Liars say our name during our set. Does anyone know anything about this? Angus from Liars said "something something tiger... Bat For Lashes"

That's all I know.

p.s. If any of the above bands want to collaborate, we'd love to hear from them. For reals!

At Underage we rocked it but some guy was telling us not to throw masks. Masks! Of course we're gonna throw them! We bought them didn't we?

V Festival is this weekend - we're playing the Strongbow Cider Rooms, of course!

We're on at 1.45pm in this tent.

The bad news is that, as Bright Eyes has cancelled V Festival, we're one of the few bands (in our opinion) that are actually any good playing.

Then, at Reading and Leeds, we're playing this circus tent:

We're on second on Friday at Leeds (so you can catch us as soon as you get to the festival!) and Sunday at Reading (so you can nurse your hangover with us, before you get exhausted towards the end of the night).

I guess that'll be about 1:30 as well? Could be

Lots of love!

Tigers Three
