New Year Bulletin

resolutions!

wishes!

hopes!

dreams!

the holiday season sparkles with such things. we've all eaten lots of food, right? and drunk some things that we enjoyed, right? we're fat tigers.

we can't wait for the new year to start. actually jack and marcus are having new year round theirs. partay partay.

so! on to business. there are two things I want to get through in this bulletin. One is that we're playing TWISTED LICKS, a club night at 229 in London, on Friday. This will be fun and all hell will break loose, I imagine.

The other is our TOP TWELVE VIDEOS OF THE YEAR. Yay!

These videos aren't of this year. Neither do they star us. But then which good videos do?

So. Twisted Licks has the following information:

The myspace adddress is myspace.com/twistedlicks

and the date is FRIDAY the 4TH of January. This Friday! Not sure what time we're on. But it'll be dancing new year fun!

On to the videos. This compilation fully reflects one tiger's opinion, as the others are preparing a party. I won't tell you which one I am.

These videos are the ones that have caused hilarity, pathos, sauciness and fantastic times for all. Generally I'm not for the current madness of time-wasting these kind of sites cause, so here I act as a filter for you, for your enjoyment. Wonderful.

In no particular order:

#12 - In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins, live. What can we say? In a year where a gorilla has made this song a hit, here's the original gorilla "performing" it. Wonderful.

#11 - Aitor Throup fashion video. Apart from the great super-hero fashion trickery he's worked over the year (let's make a comic together Aitor! Call me!), this video is great for the soundtrack. It might be someone we know.

#10 - Super Mario Bros. Frustration. There are some modified versions of NES Super Mario out there, but this one has commentary. Hi-Larious. Profanities ahoy.

#9 - The Sheens, Hot Shots. This year I've watched Wall Street. Hmm. Not convinced, but this video enjoys a genius synergy of cinema that can only come from an acting dynasty. How the Sheens/Estovez's had spoofs monopolised is a lovely thing.

#8 - Gorden The Gopher is mauled. The title promises more than it delivers, but the indignity of Gordon is fantastic. Bring back such character as this on kid's tv, please.

#7 - Fun With The Clapper. You can enjoy this video for the spirited reading of 'Spongebob Squarepants'. Or for the special use of "The Clapper". The Clapper plugs into a wallswitch and then whatever's plugged through it turns on and off through claps. Or loud voices. Or anything.

#6 - Turkish Star Wars. There is a phenomenon known as foreign recuts of films. In this case, Star Wars has been recut (using the special effects) with Turkish actors. And a new plot. This clip has no Star Wars footage, but look at the related ones for the flying sequences.

#5 - Gumby intro sequence. Here in the UK, we don't know Gumby from Adam. And who's Adam when he's at home? But Gumby is basically Morph. But without Tony Hart. He's a world of fun. If you have a heart, then he's a part of you. Indeed. Creepy?

#4 - Tool-making crows. These crows are cleverer than many people I know. They're certainly cooler. If it wasn't morally questionable, I'd capture one and keep him as a pet. To serve me. And do my wicked deeds.

#3 - The Osmonds. What's not to love? Osmonds, good. Horses, good. Dancing, good. Song, great! Look the the moves, seriously.

#2 - Green Day live @ The Astoria. This girl rocks!

#1 - Ian Somerhalder. Ok, you got us. We love Ian S. And not just in a brotherly way, either. This is just an audition clip, but you should see the clip from Rules of Attraction.

Oh ok! It is New Year after all!

Phew! That's a lot of great times!

And now I must away! To more great times!

Lots of love, thanks for everything this year. It couldn't have happened without you, ${NAME}. Haha!

Love Tigers
X

Bonus clip! One of our most fun interviews we did this year, I think. Field Day! I can't remember if the interview's good or not. You decide!
